1.What we collect

Information you give us

  • Account: your email address and name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account's name and email address.
  • Reelkaar profile: if you offer services, the details you add, such as display name, photo, bio, services, prices, packages, city and approximate service area, availability, equipment, languages and work samples.
  • Requirements and proposals: what you need, the date, approximate location, budget, reference files, and the proposals and quotes you send.
  • Messages: chats, attachments, replies and reactions you send to other users.
  • Reviews you write.

Information collected automatically

  • Sign-in sessions: the IP address and browser or device details of each signed-in session, so you can see and sign out of your sessions and we can keep accounts secure.
  • Location: if you allow location access, your browser shares your position so we can show Reelkaars near you. You can choose a city instead.
  • Activity: read status, online status while you have Reelkaar open, and counts such as profile views and enquiries. Profile views are counted, not recorded against the person who viewed.
  • Technical logs our servers keep to run and protect the service.

2.How we use it

  • To create and secure your account and sign you in.
  • To show your public profile, match requirements with suitable Reelkaars, and power search by service and location.
  • To deliver messages, attachments and notifications, including emails about new messages and activity.
  • To show Reelkaars statistics about their own profile.
  • To prevent spam, fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms, and meet legal obligations.
  • To fix problems and improve Reelkaar.

3.What other people can see

  • Anyone can see a Reelkaar's public profile, work samples, reviews and approximate service area. We never show an exact home address.
  • Matching Reelkaars can see a requirement you post, including your name and its approximate location.
  • Only the people in a conversation can see its messages, attachments and online status.
  • Your email address is never shown to other users. If you share contact details in a chat yourself, the other person can see and keep them.

4.Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers.

We use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf, only as needed to run Reelkaar:

  • Cloud hosting and file storage (Amazon Web Services) for the site, database, photos and videos.
  • An email delivery provider to send sign-in codes and notifications.
  • Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect users or the public from harm, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply.

5.Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in, and your browser's local storage to remember things like your location choice and drafts. We don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

6.How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active. Sign-in sessions expire after 30 days. When you delete your account we delete or anonymise your personal information, except where we need to keep it to resolve disputes, prevent abuse or comply with the law. Messages you sent remain visible to the people you sent them to.

7.Security

We use encrypted connections, short-lived single-use sign-in codes, secure session cookies and access controls so that only the right people can reach private data. No online service is perfectly secure, so please keep your email and Google account safe and take care with what you share in chats.

8.Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we use it;
  • correct or update it (you can also edit most of it yourself in your account);
  • delete your account and personal information;
  • withdraw consent you have given; and
  • nominate someone to act for you if you are unable to.

Write to support@reelkaar.com from the email address on your account. We may need to confirm it's you before acting.

9.Children
